Grant is a Canadian Screen Award nominated cinematographer with a decisive eye for story and a focus on cinematic excellence. From intimate verité to sweeping mountain films and crafted interviews, Grant’s approach is guided by a composer’s sense of timing and rhythm.

As a certified drone operator, he has been brought in as a specialist camera on productions such as BBC Earth’s Frozen Planet II and Seven Worlds One Planet. He has has filmed belugas in the Arctic, butterfly migrations in Mexico, hurricane devastation in Vanuatu, and spectacular stories in the mountains of British Columbia.

Without exception, his projects have been critically acclaimed, winning numerous festival and Leo Awards (BC film awards). His films have premiered at major international festivals, including IDFA, CPH:DOX, and Hot Docs. Just Eat It was a Hot Docs Top 20 Audience Choice, while This Mountain Life received Best Visuals at Kendall Mountain, Best Photography at Toréllo Mountain, the Grand Prize at Tegernsee, and accolades at Banff. His work in Because We Are Girls won Best Cinematography for a Canadian Feature at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival.

Grant holds Canadian and UK citizenship and is a certified diver. When not working, he can be found outside with his family, on a mountain bike, skiing, or volunteering as the thermal drone lead for his local search and rescue team.
